Celebrating 87 Years: A Special "SOYA" Exhibition

The first Antarctic research ship, "SOYA", which is on display at the lMuseum of Maritime Science, was launched on February 16th, 1938, marking its 87th anniversary this year!
To commemorate "SOYA"’s 87th anniversary, a special open ship event will be held for two days on February 15th (Sat) and 16th (Sun), in what are normally restricted areas inside the ship.

Additionally, on both days, 87 limited-edition "Original Commemorative Badges" (with serial numbers) will be distributed.
On February 16th, the actual launch anniversary, "SOYA" will be decorated in "Full-Dress Ship" style.

On the day of the event, a special exhibition, [Special Exhibition] Antarctic Exploration and Dogs ~ Unsung Heroes Who Worked Alongside Humans ~, will be held in the crew dining hall inside "SOYA".
