September 10th is Sewer Day every year.
In commemoration of this day, "Sewer Day Festival 2023" will be held!!
This year's special show will be a collaboration between Poop Teacher from “Poop School,” who is famous for the Poop Drills, and Tokyo Sewerage Museum “Rainbow”!!
Under the theme of disaster prevention, let us enjoy studying with Poop Teacher & Poop Cat the following: What should we do when an earthquake strikes?
How can sewers help us in an earthquake?
In addition, parents and children can enjoy a demonstration of the "SPR construction method" for reconstructing sewer pipes, which can only be seen twice a year, as well as eco-friendly crafts with plastic bottles, and a work experience program, which is usually targeted at elementary and junior high school students.

Guided tours of the Ariake Water Reclamation Center will be held twice a day, in the morning and in the afternoon.

There will be many more events!
For more information about the time and how to participate, please check the PDF flyer on the official website.
We look forward to seeing you all!!

◆Why is September 10th Sewer Day?

Around September 10th, which is 220 days (Nihyaku-Hatsuka) from the beginning of spring, there are many typhoons. That is why it is called "Nihyaku-Hatsuka."
September 10th has been designated "Sewer Day" to commemorate one of the major roles of the sewer system, the removal of rainwater, and the typhoon season of Nihyaku-Hatsuka.
