Next-Generation Mobility Town Experience＜Tokyo Teleport Station・Miraikan・Aqua CitySymbol Promenade Park＞

"Come ride the future. Next-Generation Mobility Town Experience" is an event where you can experience four future forms of mobility in the Tokyo's waterfront sub-center areas.

Attractive bases have been formed in Tokyo's waterfront sub-center areas, including the Daiba and Aomi areas, which are international tourist hubs, and the Ariake South area, which is a convention zone centered around Tokyo Big Sight. The Bay Area is one of the fist implementation areas in the Tokyo metropolitan government's efforts to realize a "Smart Tokyo" where residents live a quality life by bringing out the potential of Tokyo through the power of digital technology.
At this event, you can experience in person four forms of mobility, including an autonomous EV (Electric Vehicle) bus, a new type of autonomous mobility for tourism, and a suitcase-shaped robot that automatically guides visually impaired people to their destinations. If you wish to participate, please apply in advance through the application form for each project.

◆Travel on an autonomous EV bus! Odaiba excursion project

"J6" is a small electirc bus developed by Chinese automaker BYD to meet traffic needs in Japan. With a range of about 200km on a single charge, the bus boasts enough range for the use as a community bus. It also has a large low-floor area so that everyone from children to the elderly can get on and off at ease.
In this project, the bus will be equipped with an autonomous driving system and various sensors from Advanced Smart Mobility Co., Ltd. and will run as an autonomous EV bus on two public road routes of about 2.5km starting from Tokyo Teleport Station.

◆Project to increase the value of Odaiba City by compact autonomous EV buses

"ARMA" is an autonomous shuttle bus from the French autonomous bus manufacturer "NAVYA" with a riding capacity of 14 persons and a maximum speed of 19km/h. This EV (Electric Vehicle) bus can run autonomously for about 8 hours on a single charge. In addition, cameras installed inside and outside of the vehicle enable remote safety management. In this project, you can get to tour the Symbol Promenade Park east-west and north-south, starting from Aqua City Odaiba. To further enhance the enjoyment of an outing in Odaiba , we will have the Mystery Stamp Rally and give the passengers discount coupons that can be used at nearby facilities.

◆Navigation robot "AI Suitcase" outdoor running project

"AI Suitcase" is a suitcase-shaped robot that automatically guides visually impaired people to their destinations. Developers include Miraikan in Odaiba, Tokyo. It moves within several preset areas. To date, navigation demonstrations have been made at Miraikan, New Chitose Airport, and other indoor facilities. This will be the first outdoor navigation demonstration with the aim of operating in town. Under a scenario of a walk around the town where public transportation and a destination facility is connected, it will start guiding the participants at Miraikan to the vicinity of Yurikamome "Telecom Center" Station. Two of the three daily services are targeted at people with visual impairments. A survey will be conducted after the experience for future research and development.

◆Compact autonomous mobility PARTNER MOBILITY ONE with PiiMo running project

"PARTNER MOBILITY ONE" is a new concept of compact autonomous mobility developed jointly by Intelligent mobility lab at Kurume Institute of Technology, Persol Cross Technology Co., Ltd., and Le DESIGN Co., Ltd.（a venture from Kurume Institute of Technology). They made it a multi-seater ride so that passengers can share the special feeling of being at a tourist destination with their precious friends and family while enjoying a relaxing conversation. In addition, it is designed as a bench-type so that everyone from children to the elderly can have easy access and a sense of relief.
This project will also assess the convenience of inclusive tourism services in the waterfront areas and explore the potential of regional vitalization through tourist guides that convey the attractiveness of the areas. Be sure to experience the tourism services of the future in the oceanfront areas packed with attractions of Japan.
