A traditional Japanese event: mochi pounding!
Experience "mochi pounding" using a pestle and mortar at Ariake Garden, something you can't easily do at home, and get into the New Year's spirit!

*One advance online reservation ticket is required for each participant.
How to participate
Advance online reservation required (first come, first served)
① Please make a reservation through the online reservation site (opens early December/reservations begin Monday, December 23rd).
② Please present your advance reservation ticket (online screen) at the reception desk when you participate on the day.
③ You will take turns making mochi using a pestle and mortar.
④ After the mochi-making experience, you will be given individually wrapped mochi to take home.
*The advance online reservation site will be open in early December, and reservations will begin on Monday, December 23rd.
*You cannot take home the mochi made during the experience.

◎Mascot characters from sports teams based in Koto Ward have appeared

On Saturday, January 4th only, "Unite" from Tokyo United Basketball Club (TUBC) and "Sametaro" from Shimizu Construction Koto Blue Sharks will visit Ariake Garden Shrine!
They will liven up the New Year's mochi-pounding♪
