  • Aomi area

"The Forest Where Small Robots Echo" is scheduled to open to the public on April 21, 2023 (Friday). Along with the exhibition, there will be a talk event where the artists who created the works will introduce all of the exhibition highlights from A to Z.

The main exhibit will be the work Lasermice dyad from artist So Kanno. In a space imagined as a forest, around thirty robots covered in fluffy white fur run free while emitting red and green lights and making sounds.
This work took inspiration from the behaviors of groups of animals such as fireflies and bees. Their behaviors change depending on the light they emit, sometimes moving together in perfect harmony and sometimes moving about randomly. Continuously watching these behaviors, it feels as though the robots are having conversations or spending time together as a family. At times it appears as if they argue, and at times it appears as if they rejoice in solitude.

Mr. Kanno will come as the guest for the opening talk where he will talk about the exhibition's highlights and hints on how to see it from the perspective of the artist who created it. Additionally, Mr. Kanno will introduce the contents of Lasermice, as well as the inside story of the exhibition and many other pieces of information that could not be put into the exhibition space.
